As many of you know, we formed a D&I committee of employees who volunteer to share thoughts and recommendations about how we can promote a more diverse and inclusive workplace. Recently we brainstormed the idea of forming a greeting committee to pair existing employees with new hires — like the ‘buddy system’ we learned in school. Because we have many new home office-based employees, we think this idea has great potential and will help our new team members feel more included. We’ll update you as we formalize the plan.

Also on the inclusion front, we will be sending new employees a short survey when they hit the 30-day employment mark, to see how they’re doing and ask how we might make them feel more included.

These efforts to make our newer BMG family members feel more included are a priority for the firm’s leadership. If you have additional ideas for welcoming new team members, please reach out to me.
