Wendy Hrncir at the Houston Food Bank.

The BMG team turned out last month to volunteer as a Day of Service to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Calvin Mann reports he was honored to purchase a week’s worth of nonperishable food and drinks for five families, donating them to Caring & Sharing, a pantry affiliated with Feeding the Gulf Coast.

Chance Mann volunteered at The Place of Forsyth County, which provides financial emergency assistance, clothing, food and support services, by unpacking and sorting food items. Chance adds, “Food insecurity is real and impacts far too many people. I was glad to support this worthy cause.”

Back in the Lone Star State, Jeff Bolen put his writing talent to work, penning notes of encouragement and support as part of North Texas Food Bank’s Cards for Hope program. Meanwhile, Wendy Hrncir helped assemble food pallets at the Houston Area Food Bank for families in need. She tells us she enjoyed doing some good for hungry neighbors and meeting fabulous people during her volunteer stint.
