As we began to conceive our new Diversity & Inclusion initiative last year, we knew that finding a team member dedicated to planning and implementing the program would be key to its success, as we work toward our goal of becoming a more diverse and inclusive company.
With that mission in mind, the partners sat down with Controller Grace Maher to discuss the job description, and professional experience essential for this important new position at our firm. With Grace leading our search, we were fortunate to find and hire Rose Flores, our new D&I Program Manager-Finance.
Rose started with us in December, and she’s already hit the ground running. When we brought her onboard, she told us she was excited about building our D&I effort from the ground up. Rose is working now to create employee resource groups, as well as training programs to ensure our team is able to achieve their highest potential within our firm. She’s also planning ways our team members can celebrate diversity and cultural awareness throughout the year. Finally, Rose will oversee our certified supplier diversity program.
Rose comes to us from HMS Host, where she worked in the area of strategic alliances and business development, helping airport concessions operators access minority and women-owned vendors. She especially enjoyed mentoring the restaurant teams, offering guidance and insights to help them achieve success.
