Each month we’re profiling a member of the BM&G team who’s gone the extra mile — above and beyond the call of duty — for the team and our clients. This month, we’re featuring Houston Assistant Fulfillment Manager Salma Bhegani.
To hear Salma tell it, working from home took a bit of an adjustment at first. Like many of us, she enjoyed collaborating with her Houston teammates in the office and appreciated being able to get quick answers when seeking advice or input. But then came the Coronavirus when she and the rest of the BMG team began working from home offices.
“After working from home for about a month, I hit my stride with this new normal we’ve all accepted,” Salma explains. “I miss seeing everyone and being able to strike up a conversation in the office, but I’ve learned it’s just as easy to email or make a phone call. There are advantages, too, to working from home, especially the flexibility I find when there’s a rush closing.
Even from home, Salma still wakes at the same hour each work day, dresses and gets ready for work as though she’ll be driving into the office. But her commute is much shorter these days — from her kitchen to her home office. She loves her job and says she’s never bored as a closer, thanks to a record volume of business.
In the end, Salma is thankful for many things, and credits BMG leadership with having the foresight to move employees to home offices, while ensuring clients were serviced without skipping a beat. She’s thankful for her job and her family, including her nearly four-year-old grandson Salman, who she describes as sometimes naughty, but clever and fun.
Thank you for being part of the team, Salma! We appreciate you.
