When we launched the firm’s Diversity & Inclusivity initiative last year, we knew that getting input, perspectives and ideas from our team members would be key to its success. To that end, we asked for volunteers and formed a D&I committee that met for the first time last month.

The other partners and I were really pleased with the participation and interest from committee members, and during our meeting, we talked about a number of important aspects of the program, including recruitment, hiring and career advancement for the team. Rose Flores provided an overview of our supplier program, and Greg Graham updated the group about the new D&I section of the newsletter that we’re launching with this edition.

The D&I committee contributed a number of great ideas, including recommending topics for upcoming D&I articles for the monthly article. (Thank you, Jasmine, for writing the first D&I story.) Other good ideas that came from the meeting include creating a special email group so we can share perspectives and progress. We’ll also announce employee-led support groups for team members to learn and hone valuable workplace skills.

Thank you again to those who participated. We look forward to keeping the entire team apprised of the committee’s ideas and progress.
