“Greatness is determined by service!”

– Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

We celebrate the legacy and innumerable contributions of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a federal holiday on Monday, January 16.  This year marks the 36th annual celebration of the man who led the Civil Rights movement in our country and was a catalyst for social change.

Many of us – including our Client Service Representatives – mark the occasion with a Day of Service, whether volunteering at a local food pantry, running errands for an elderly neighbor, or picking up litter at a neighborhood park.

If you need a few ideas for sharing your time and talents this MLK Day, you will find some great recommendations on this AmeriCorps site. Just type in your zip code for a list of suggestions.
