Black, Mann & Graham is thrilled to welcome the newest member of our legal team, Attorney Josh Verkerk.  Josh currently works out of the Dallas office but will be transferring to his hometown of Houston next spring.

After getting his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin, Josh attended law school at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.  He describes his arrival in the small, quiet town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains as a bit of culture shock, but he came to appreciate the peaceful atmosphere where it was easier to focus on his studies.

Josh started working as an attorney in 2013, first in-house for a credit union, then later at Brown, Fowler & Alsup.  At Brown, Fowler & Alsup, he met Logan Hastings who later introduced him to BMG.  As part of the BMG legal team, he works closely with Ryan, Syndy, Calvin, and Eva – reviewing and drafting loan documentation and responding to client inquiries.

He enjoys spending time with his female dog Cinnie, whom he calls his ‘only child’, and outdoor activities.  He is an avid University of Texas and Astros fan and enjoys occasional sand volleyball.  Josh sits on the board of the Heard Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney and participates as a Lead Volunteer with the nonprofit Trees for Houston.  He’s pictured here with his niece, Evelyn, and nephew, Shiloh.

Josh adds, ‘I’m very happy to be at Black, Mann & Graham, and to be back in the consumer real estate practice.  I appreciate the work-life balance and great people eager to share their knowledge and collaborate.  I’m excited to be here and hope to be so for a long time.”

Welcome aboard, Josh! We are glad to have you as part of the BMG team.
