2023’s TMBA Education Symposium took place at The Westin – Southlake on November 6th and 7th. As in prior years, the lineup of speakers was excellent and the flow of information was steady. Monday afternoon’s opening keynote panel featured Christopher Whalen, Chairman, Whalen Global Advisors LLC and Rob Chrisman, Principal, Chrisman LLC. That evening saw the group gather for the opening reception featuring live music and truly excellent weather.
On Tuesday morning, we heard from Marina Walsh, MBA’s VP of Industry Analysis followed by Mark McArdle, Assistant Director, Mortgage Markets, CFPB. Prior to lunch we were uplifted by John Israel’s (Mr. Thank You) powerful presentation on unreasonable gratitude. We all gathered for lunch and had the pleasure of hearing from Alan Graham of Mobile Loaves & Fishes, a social outreach ministry that provides food and clothing, cultivates community, and promotes dignity to homeless men and women in need. The afternoon’s topics ranged from reverse mortgages, the implementation of DEI initiatives, and lessons from the c-suite.
It was great to once again have the opportunity to connect in person with so many of our industry colleagues. We appreciate the time and efforts of the Education Symposium Committee as well as those of the TMBA staff.
