Steven Kubik is an experienced transactional attorney and litigator whose practice focuses on all areas of residential mortgage lending. He is currently licensed in Texas, and admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. Steve manages the Dallas office of the Firm, overseeing its document preparation and review services.

Prior to joining the Firm, Steve founded and practiced at his own law firm based in Dallas, Texas for over six years. During that time, he and his firm provided document preparation and review services to residential mortgage lenders. He also served as outside general counsel for mortgage lenders and business clients, regularly advising clients and taking on matters related to regulatory compliance, employment law, consumer lending, contract disputes, contract drafting, and real property law.

Before founding his own firm, Steve practiced as a commercial litigator at a large law firm in Dallas, Texas. His practice area included general defensive litigation, lender liability defense, federal and state securities fraud defense, commercial debt collection, wrongful-foreclosure, contract disputes, and breach of fiduciary duty defense.

Steve graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law with the highest honors, summa cum laude—Order of the Coif, and was a member of the Texas Tech Law Review. During law school, Steve also served indigent clients in litigation matters as a member of the Texas Tech Civil Practice Clinic. Steve received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame.

Steve currently serves as Secretary and on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Mortgage Bankers Association. He remains actively involved and has served on several committees for the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association, including the Regulatory/Compliance and Young Mortgage Bankers Committees.
