Each year the partners set goals for themselves and the firm. This year was no different, of course, but goalsetting can be a challenging task, especially when it comes to self-improvement. In need of inspiration, I reflected on the firm’s core values which have guided BMG for almost 24 years. If you are not familiar with our values, I encourage you to learn them. We post them prominently on our website as a reminder to ourselves and others about what drives BMG’s success.
Although each value is of critical importance to the firm, I chose to focus on continuous improvement for my 2024 goals: “we look to better our company by improving continuously.” What better way to improve than through education and training?
I will set out to receive the Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) designation to continue my education in the mortgage industry. To earn such a designation, I must graduate MBA’s School of Mortgage Banking program. So, I will enroll in the third and final course offered by SOMB. Wish me luck!
Several goals I set for myself include enhanced internal and external training. In 2024, we will supplement our team’s training with additional live training sessions where team members can ask questions and dive deeper into the issues they come across in the performance of their work. Additionally, we will improve our accessibility to clients by providing training in person, remotely, and by recorded video. I intend to provide at least one client training session each month. Clients interested in receiving such training should reach out to their client relations specialist.
The firm also took steps to continuously improve earlier this year when we announced the addition of Daniel Engle and Steven Kubik to the partnership. Both have been strong leaders and contributors to our firm’s success. Adding them to the partnership ensures these talented individuals continue their contributions now and into the future.
There are several more goals we have in store, including an update to our Texas Home Equity Manual. I wish each of you the absolute best this new year as you set out to accomplish your personal goals both old and new. Cheers to a prosperous 2024!
