Black, Mann & Graham Announces the Promotion of Engle and Kubik to Partner
FLOWER MOUND, TX – Black, Mann & Graham is proud to announce the promotion of Flower Mound Senior Attorney Daniel S. Engle and Dallas Managing Attorney Steven Kubik to partner.

Daniel S. Engle
Engle was admitted to the practice of law in 2013 and is currently licensed in Texas and New York. He received a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a juris doctor degree, summa cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Daniel joined Black, Mann & Graham as an associate attorney in 2015, becoming a senior associate in 2019 before his promotion to partner in 2024.
His areas of practice include real estate law and regulatory compliance. In 2023, he assumed responsibilities as lead editor of Black, Mann & Graham’s Texas Home Equity Manual after serving as a junior editor since 2016. This manual has provided guidance on the complexities and developments of Texas’s home equity requirements for over a decade. He also is the lead author and editor of the firm’s Clients and Friends Memos.
Steven Kubik
Kubik is an experienced transactional attorney and litigator whose practice focuses on all areas of residential mortgage lending. He is licensed in Texas and admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas. He manages the firm’s Dallas office, overseeing its document preparation and examination services. For six years before joining Black, Mann & Graham, he practiced at his own Dallas-based law firm. During that time, Kubik and his firm provided document preparation and examination services to residential mortgage lenders. He also served as outside general counsel for mortgage lenders and business clients, regularly advising clients and taking on matters related to regulatory compliance, employment law, consumer lending, contract disputes, contract drafting, and real property law.
Kubik graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law with the highest honors, summa cum laude—Order of the Coif, and was a member of the Texas Tech Law Review. During law school, he also served indigent clients in litigation matters as a member of the Texas Tech Civil Practice Clinic. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame. Kubik currently serves as Secretary and on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Mortgage Bankers Association. He remains actively involved and has served on several committees for the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association, including the Regulatory/Compliance, TMBPAC and Young Mortgage Bankers Committees.
